We Are Not Who We Think We Are

No one is who they think they are.
They are only who others allow them to be.

This was inspired by my viewing of the first two Godfather films. Michael Corleone thought he was untouchable. Yet anyone of his underlings could have erased that illusion at any time. That they, themselves, would then be killed, perhaps quite unkindly, is irrelevant. The Godfather would be dead.
